TIMOTHEA ARMOUR
Humanist Wedding Celebrant
About me
Everything I enjoy and all the paths I’ve chosen come back to storytelling, and to bringing people together. My background is in art and writing, with a sideline in putting on DIY gigs and many years working in pubs, front of house roles in the arts and in organising events.
Over the years, this combination of skills meant a few people had suggested I should become a celebrant but it wasn’t until a fellow artist told me about funeral celebrant training she’d done with the humanist charity A Quiet Revolution that I saw a way to do it that felt right to me. AQR’s pay-it-forward model and belief that everyone should have ceremony and ritual in their lives chimed with my own beliefs, and I completed their wedding training course in February 2025.
I live in Leith and am happy to travel anywhere in Edinburgh or the surrounding area, to wherever is right for your ceremony. Planning a wedding is an act of co-creation and I’m here to make your strangest ideas into a joyful ceremony for you and your guests – and help you find the words for the ideas you didn’t know you had yet.
